What to do, what to do............

I think I'm going to just, when evening comes and the girls are in bed, post spontaneously. Seems any day that I have a post in mind, something goes askew and ruins said post or my mood / eagerness to write it.

As in today.
Yeah, I've been in a slight rut lately. The still not sleeping on my end isn't helping. In the more tired state at times I've thought perhaps a huge change is needed. But later I realize that the person I am is just not risky / suited enough for major change. Oh how I wish.

The girls are 11 months old today - crazy no? I've bought their birthday party outfits and window-shopped a little for ideas on their birthday party. Original plan - invite all the friends and family / whole bunch of people for the big bash. Well now I'm tinkering with a new plan. We may trim that list down just a smidge as in people that have had a vested interest in the girls or us or who have at least made attempts to hang out or meet us / see us on occasion. I'm debating why I should take up time and money to have people over just because in some fashion they fall under the "friends and family" list who won't work with hubby and I to meet in a social situation. Yes everyone is busy, but is that a good enough excuse time after time? Am I wrong on this? Sort of the two-way street theory. Give me a few days and a decent night's sleep and I'm sure I'll be back to my original thought.

Haha - don't post when you're angry right?

The first test-shot for the girls' invitations. Allie - look at the camera next time! :)
(Yes I'm working it around the NCAA March Madness basketball tournament)

  1. Good luck with the planning. I am lucky to have such creative friends doing all the work for me otherwise I wouldn't have many plans in motion. Your girls have so much hair. I am so jealous. My girls still can't get enough hair for a clip or barrette.

  2. Could they be any cuter? Nope!

I went to a first birthday party this past weekend and actually cried watching the birthday girl eat her cake. She was so happy!

  3. Smaller = better and more enjoyable for you...they'll never know the difference

Save the big parties for when they're older and you can use it against them. For example, "go make your bed or we won't be having any exotic zoo animals at your 8th birthday party." I'm just saying...

  4. Good luck with the party planning, I am sure it will be perfect no matter if it is big or small! :)

  5. I went with close friends (as there was no immediate family around) for both first year parties. I also didn't want gifts, so I asked that people didn't bring any - I just wanted a day to celebrate their births, nothing else.

Now that we are close to family, we'll have just family over (which is a party in itself) I have 3 other siblings who are all married and a total of 5 nieces and nephews.

  6. Good luck with the planning. Our parties have traditionally been way too big and afterwards, I always wished we had kept it smaller.
The girls are too cute, by the way!
