Separation anxiety (um well........sort of)

And I'm not referring to our girls. (Yes they have a bit of that starting to go on but again, not the point of today's post.) More on today's fun events at a later date. (aka reflux gone wild) Hence today's "lighter" post as besides getting spit up / thrown up on all day, also had a beyond hysterical Allie for about an hour and a half after their normal bedtime. So as I'm a bit drained and not feeling creative, I'm going to waste time talking about "the cranky cat."

A slight backstory:
In terms of our "fur-babies" it has been a pretty rough year. We had three cats. Halfway through my pregnancy, our one cat, Heidi, began wheezing and soon after was diagnosed with a fungal pneumonia. Her lungs were so full of junk and the vet said the medicine they could try wouldn't be effective this far along. By this point she had to be on oxygen to even live so we made a painful decision to let her go. (Sad part is you can sometimes catch it earlier on since cats "supposedly" get tired, lethargic and such. Problem with Heidi was she was a lazy, happy to do nothing but sit around type cat anyway.)

And a few weeks after the girls came home, Speedy went outside and never came home. Hubby found him up on our hill a day later - thinking a dog or such got to him based on what he saw. (yes, you can argue not to let a cat outside, but that's where he liked to be and had been doing it for years)

That leaves us with Gracie. She's a Balinese which is a very social and vocal breed, and even that is putting it mildly. With the addition of the girls and the absence of kitty-friends, I guess her world is a bit out of whack and she walks around constantly whining. (The girls may sleep most of the night -the cat seems not to care if it's 4am; she's up and at it.) She also has decided she must be a part of everything. If we don't seem to be paying attention to her, she'll just plop right into the middle of whatever you're doing.

Hubby on his laptop and not paying attention to her?
Problem solved. (Note: She currently now is taking a nap in the same spot)

Earlier today, we put the girls in their seats for cereal time. Hubby brought over a couple of chairs for us and I thought it was odd he then took over a third one.
But of course, there was a reason.

Might soon be the time to find her a possible kitty companion.

So perhaps a more inspired post later (eh, we'll see)

  2. cats are funny! I let mine outside all the time and she is declawed on the front. she had no problem climbing trees, catching her prey of choice and defending herself.

  4. Here's hoping today is MUCH better for you, hubby AND babies!

Aww your kitty is so cute! He might need a little furry friend. Especially when the girls become more mobile. He'll need a partner in crime or a distraction when they come for his tail.

  6. Very cute cat. My orange tabby enjoys sitting on my laptop desk as well when I'm not paying attention to him enough. Thanks for your note on my blog.
