A slight whirlwind..........

Well last week was beyond crazy so we can hope this week at least isn't worse. I'm starting to go back to work full time and with my parents figure out a schedule for who's watching the girls and where. Add on some cranky babies at bedtime, Allie going through a silent reflux / feeding issue and yup, I'm about on E. It dawned on me that next month the girls will be half a year old. That's crazy. It feels about 10x longer than that in some ways. I don't remember a lot even from pregnancy - of course besides being bored as heck on the couch.
So they hate going to bed at night - we are attempting to move up their bedtime in hopes of fixing this issue. Screaming "in stereo" at night is not helping hubby or I wind down at all. Tonight went okay with that idea - depending on their catnap schedule for tomorrow I may try to move it up even more. Hubby noted that they tend to really calm down when their room gets dark so we may get blackout curtains for their room since their bedtime is way before the sun goes down.

Normally I'd say they hate car rides. Not sure if they're getting older and used to the car or they've discovered the newest toy addition. The last few car trips we gave them the little stuffed elephant and hippo I'd picked out awhile back. Go figure, they love them. Especially Allie. Started to fuss in the car and I gave her her hippo and "ooooo!!!!!," she's happy. Hubby mentioned that we should buy a few more of them - When I was pregnant we met a couple with year old twins that had a favorite stuffed animal. They bought a dozen of the stuffed animal so the girls would never be without but this way the parents could wash them, if one got lost, so forth. Not a bad idea. I've bought toys and outfits and such all non-matching figuring it'd be something different / the girls don't have to match all the time, but it might be to a disadvantage when the girls figure out one has something the other doesn't. We'll see.

A slightly pensive look for the camera.

  2. Well it is not just you, my girls scream in stereo at night as well. We have moved up their bed time to around 6:30-7:00 and it has helped, or at least they get to bed earlier and we can have some quiet time before we go to bed.

I hope that the car rides continue to get better. My girls love the car, thank goodness.

  4. the girls are the cutest :) my friends with kids swear by blackout blinds....i have not committed to them yet.

couple of questions for you if you have time:
-do the girls sleep in the same crib?
-how do you like the city mini? does it really fit through doorways? any other strollers you have?
