The 4th Louisiana style

I'll get to that in a second.
Ok so first - finally gave up the idea of two blogs (one more anonymous "online" and one for IRL) But figured might as well keep a little tab on security so hubby will remain "hubby" and while the girls' names are used, at least those are nicknames, as is mine - not that "secure" and annoymous but figured well enough. And I set up a separate email for the blog. I'm figuring if someone wants to find something out badly enough, that'll happen regardless. Kind of like robbery. I'm pretty sure if a master burglar wanted in our house, they could pull it off. But we lock the doors and such in general to ward off the "petty" theives just looking for an easy entry. Not a great analogy but you get the picture.

Well hubby's b-day happens to be July 4th / Saturday. After a bit of pondering, he came up with what he wants to do: a crawfish boil. So 80 pounds of crawfish are going to be making their way to brother-in-law's house. Live crawfish. Now I'm not a vegetarian - however, I do not like to see what I'm eating in it's happy "still alive" state. If I had to actually kill a chicken for dinner, then yeah, I'd be a vegetarian. So I'm not exactly thrilled to have to watch the "carnage" Saturday afternoon. But I'll probably go over just to see what 80 pounds of crawfish look like. Hubby also is making it a bit of a "theme" - he's going to make a large volume of hurricanes as the drink for the day. I'll have to oversee that of course. Hurricanes are really tasty but they also seem to be an easy drink to completely screw up.
Allie not so keen on showing off her sun hat.

And trying to roll over - not quite there. Kind of like tummy time. Half the time we try it Allie decides "ok i'll just lay here and suck on my hand"
So off work this week (every year we close for a week around the 4th) Hubby and I may try a lunch outing with the girls as this week isn't the 100 degree crud we had last week. Not that it's the first time the girls have gone out to lunch, but with hubby and I working on different days and such it will be the first time him and I get to venture out with them. Guess I'm a bit of a pansy in taking them out a lot right now -not sure if they need to get out more and used to it or that I do. One problem is we're a good 20 minutes from most places and by that time one (or in really fun instances both) usually has decided "yeah not so much liking this car seat thing."

  2. Happy early brithday to your hubby!

I'm with you, definitely don't want to see what I'm eating alive. A hurricane does sound good....

We didn't go out much with the twins when they were little. Now that they eat tablefood it has gotten easier for us to make a day of things.
