Maybe taking them out twice yesterday overstimulated them or who knows, but we could tell around "bedtime" it was going to be a fun night. (insert inherent sarcasm) They both were up and fussy (loud enough that hubby and I alternated trying to calm them down a bit) most of the time, and during the small patches they slept, I just blankly started at the monitor waiting for the next round. At least I had an hour where I dreamt we were playing laser tag at brother-in-law's house (which is really odd considering I've played that like once when I was a teen.)
I consider myself mostly an animal lover. This love, however, does not extend to most creatures of the insect world. Now I won't kill a spider that's outside, but once said spider breaks our unwritten contract of "do not enter my bathroom" all bets are off. However, spiders are not the objects of my discontent today.
My poor hibiscus! Same goes for most every "pretty" plant we have in our yard. These stupid Japanese beetles are ruining my yard. Like I should complain since hubby does most the yardwork but hey, I've pulled my share of weeds. Does that count?
So a few of the blogs I ran across during ICLW recently have had posts concerning blog readership and commeting. A general question is do / should you comment on blogs where the author has commented on yours? That does pose as an interesting question on "possible rules and etiquette" of the blogworld. I don't have a huge list of blogs I read /comment on a "new post" basis. Do I feel offended if those people don't routinely comment on mine? I guess I'd say I hope at least a few people read my blog but considering people keep diaries to be read by no one, it is a place I can put some thoughts and rambling down regardless. I would think you should blog for your own enjoyment vs. trying to "create" a blog that will entice a large group of readers - or am I wrong? Maybe the most exciting of lifestyles, however very poorly written, would be boring in the blogworld.
I'm a very sarcastic / cynical person who tends to curse ("mouth like a sailor" according to my one college roommate) Hubby swears he was never sarcastic until going out with me. Well let's just say the apprentice has pretty much topped the master in that category at least in my opinion. He's just as bad as me - haha my work is done. Neither of those traits probably come across in my blog since they are very spontaneous. In writing, I can limit the use of cuss words and I'm not as "instantly" witty with the dry humor. At this rate, we're going to have sarcastic, adrenaline-junkie kids. I'm hoping to curb the language so they don't start off preschool with an extensive "4-letter word" vocabulary. Can't wait for the first parent-teacher conference there.
Now then, why do "you" read certain blogs? Of course I tend to read ones that have similiarities to my own life or that seem to be at least sort of the type of person that my IRL friends are. But how much can you really tell from a blog?

Sorry to hear about the rough night, those are just plain miserable. I would kick my feet on the bed like a child having a temper tantrum when those nights occurred. I just wanted a few hours of extra sleep, was that so hard to ask? Immature, I know. Sleep deprivation just does not sit well with me.
ReplyDeleteInteresting questions about the blogs. I do find a handful that I tend to read and comment on daily that are similar to my life some way some how. I tend to read quite a bit, but don't comment as well (typically of those I feel are much more superior in writing than I). I do not think you have to comment on someone who comments on your blog. Sometimes there just isn't anything to comment on.
Ok, done writing a page.
thanks for visitng me! it sucks having nothing to wear...
ReplyDeleteit is ironic that i came over and this is the post of the day huh? but i do try to comment on my new readers - if i have something to comment on! i love getting comments from new people, so that is always fun!
i look forward to following you and your 2 cuties :)
Wow, sounds like our girls were doing the same thing as yours. Those long...long...long nights are no fun especially when they seem to cry just to cry. The next day I just end up so punchy all day.
ReplyDeleteP.S. your sarcasm is hilarious, keep it up!
Oooh - I curse like a sailor, too. I tend to read blogs that relate to my life, belong to people I know, or that just make me laugh. I like the sarcasm!
ReplyDeleteSorry it was another rough night - sometimes, I think there is something in the air that makes them crazy for a few nights! - Tkeys
